One of DVV International's focuses in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2019 to 2021 was to extend the educational offer for adults and improve the competencies of unemployed people to make them more competitive in the labor market.
In the previous three years, DVV International supported the implementation of seven training programs based on real labor market needs, completed by a total of 77 adult unemployed individuals.
The following programs were carried out:
- Training on advanced soft skills
- Development of Android mobile applications
- Data Science
- Development of intelligent IoT applications
- Training on social media and online content management
- Training of accounting assistants
- Digital marketing.
The external evaluation of the implemented projects' success, conducted by the Qlity company, revealed that 62% of participants had found a job or a paid practice based on the acquired knowledge, skills and competencies during the training or in the first six months after the training.
An added value of the implemented programs is that they increased the self-esteem of 80% of participants. The acquired skills and knowledge made 81% of them appreciate themselves more. The implemented training programs also helped 86% of participants get to know (better) their interests and qualities.
The success, particularly creating employment opportunities, is primarily a result of the commitment of our partner organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina that identified the labor market needs and elaborated, accredited and conducted these training programs.
